Oh M Gee HOOT For Charity!!!

Welcome SNSD Fans!

Are you ready to show your SNSD Pride while GIVING BACK!

Here at M.I.C, we believe that SNSD has inspired us all to become long legged women, um I mean good people...

I am starting a Charity / Scholarship / Artistic / Microfinance / Do Good / Awesomeness... FOUNDATION!!!

I am selling clothes and accessories with creative and unique designs that I have done myself, and with the little help of SNSD's music.  For selected SNSD items sold, I will be putting $6 towards the M.I.C Charity Fund, or the MicFund!

The cause
On a regular basis, I will have everyone suggest and recommend charitable organizations or causes to donate to. Then everyone will vote to decide where to donate the money.  I would like to donate to a new charity or project every week.  Donation suggestions can be for large charities, like the Red Cross, small charites, like Kiva, community projects, artistic projects, or even small businesses.

The goal is to promote continual charitable giving!
We do not need to be rich to donate money.
We can all come together with a common interest and do what we can to help those in need. :)

The product
In order for me to raise the money, we need some sexy products!

And that is why this ain't your regular, dull, grandmother's charity project!

This is not charity 1st and the product design 2nd.  No no, the clothes I have selected and the designs I have made is with top quality in mind.  The designs will all be FLEX print on either Bella or American Apparel clothes.  Each design comes in many different colors and styles!

I used SNSD songs to inspired me, but I made sure the clothes will look chic and cool, where even non-SNSD fans will want to wear them.

Oh M Gee!
Putting two songs together never made me happier.
With a heart shaped like a "M" we get an amazing play on words or play on songs ;)
The Oh M Gee shirt for our MicFund has a little Hoot on the back. Here are pics of some of the shirts:

Hoot
Hoot is a rocking song, whose message is to warn girls to watch out for every bad boy's playful arrow, if you know what i mean...hmmm.  Well, with the 007 theme, I got some designs that will make you look dangerously HOoT...

When I first saw the Korean character for Hoot (훗), i saw a little person wearing a hat.
So, I copied the character, slanted the upper half and added a SNSD arrow to make it look like a archer. And voilà, we have Mr and Ms. Hoot! Here are some pics:

Here's a video to get you in the SNSD mood!

Charity for 7 Years of TVXQ (Update)

Update (Dec 31)

Update:
Jaejoong, Xiah, Micky, Changmin, & Yunho ARE READY! The designs have been approved for Flex print and the shirts come in many colors.  TVXQ7 and Jaejoong's Tattoo design will be printed using digital direct because the designs consist of too much detail.

Dec 26, 2010
Hello Cassies!

I'm going to be selling these designs on shirts for CHARITY.  In honor of their 7th birthday this past Dec 26th, I will be donating $7.00 from every product sold on selected items.

The t-shirts will be made by American Apparel and cost around $30, so that's about 23% of sale price going to charity!

The cause
I am starting a Charity / Scholarship / Artistic / Microfinance / Do Good / Awesomeness... FOUNDATION!!!

On a regular basis, I will have everyone suggest and recommend charitable organizations or causes to donate to. Then everyone will vote to decide where to donate the money. I would like to donate to a new charity or project every week. Donation suggestions can be for large charities, like UNICEF, small charites, like Kiva, community projects, artistic projects, or even small businesses.

The goal is to promote continual charitable giving. We do not need to be rich to donate money. We can all come together with a common interest and do what we can to help those in need.

Here are the designs:
Each TVXQ member will have it's own shirt with a unique message or symbol that represents them.

For Jaejoong, I have copied his tattoo and hope that it gets approved for Flex print. It will be on the back or the front of the shirt.

For Micky Yoochun, I have his 6002 representing his name when saying the numbers in Korean.

For Xiah Junsu, I have his famous "Oh My God SUN!" saying...

For Changmin, I have him with a bow tie, as he always stands out during performances when everyone else is wearing a tie.

For U-Know Yunho, he has two facial expressions, one smiling and the other with attitude.

I made these designs based on TVXQ, but also to make them look cool and fashionable. They will be on AA shirts, which means good quality.

Because of the QUALITY, you will want to wear them all the time.

When you wear them you will not only LOOK good,
but you will ALSO know that you ARE DOING GOOD! :)

Stay tuned for UPDATES and SPECIAL OFFERS!

For every product with the ($C) beside its name, $7 will go to our Charity Fund!

W Design

I've been listening to some JYJ jams the past couple of months, and I must say their Japanese songs are so much more intense, emotional, and amazing than their English songs.  I'm not saying their English songs are bad, but Kanye West?? this guy won't leave anyone alone.  First Taylor Swift now JYJ, come on who's next...Susan Boyle??

Well back to JYJ's Japanese songs. 'W' is an epic masterpiece that will stand the test of time, or until their next non-English single. Their Thanksgiving Tokyo concert performance was gushing with raw emotion.  Pulling every fan's heart strings. I say props to JYJ for keeping in the tears, um maybe not Xiah.

Reading the lyrics of the song everyone knows it's about DBSK's fan club, Cassiopeia.  In a time where DBSK is on hold, the fans remain, as they 'always keep the faith'.  The song reminds everyone that JYJ will always put their fans first, and never the SM shareholders.

My 'W' design is simple but meaningful.  The W represents the Cassiopeia star constellation or the DBSK fan club. The five stars represent the five DBSK members.  Apart from each other, but connected.  The five stars look like shooting stars across the night sky, allowing people to make a wish.  The Japanese characters for believe is printed on the side or back of some of the shirts. And 'Always keep the faith' text is printed on the back of the zipper hoodies ;)

Here's my attempt at making a video ad:

These designs were inspired by W, but the clothes are not just for the fans.  You can buy these shirts as gifts to some of your friends or relatives who don't know DBSK (ya there might not be that many of them), and they should appreciate the nice designs as well.  You will then smile and giggle inside when you see them wear a DBSK shirt.
I will be talking about the other designs soon.

Wae Ireoni Design

Wae Ireoni 왜 이러니 (Why Are You Being Like This?) - T-ara
So many titles to choose from.

My design is based on the Korean character for why,  (Wae).  It may remind you of Korean girls whining in dramas, or not, maybe it's just me.

I added a skirt under the first half of the 왜 character to make it look like a girl. Then I added some effects to make it look like she is banging on a door. And then finish it off with some "Knock Knock Knock Knock" or just two knocks. Just don't make any knock knock jokes because we all know they are lame.

The colours were based on the MV's vintage gold look.  The printing technique for most of the clothes is Flock for the design and Flex for the text.

Now to finish by contradicting myself....
Knock Knock...
Who's there??
Wae
Wae Who??

Design Printing Techniques

In my previous post I talked about the brand and quality of the clothes.  Now, I will be informing you on how the designs will be printed on your apparel.

The three most common printing techniques is Digital, Flex, and Flock.

Digital

Digital printing is the most common printing technique for shirts. It is used mainly for photos and colorful designs which have gradients. The print is sprayed directly onto the apparel.
  • This printing technique does not last as long as flex or flock and the colors fade over time.
  • Digital Direct works well with large designs, however the colors fade after the first few washes.
  • This printing technique is optimal if a "vintage" look is desired. The design looks somewhat washed-out and vibrant colors are not to be expected.
  • The advantages of this technique is printing with photos due to the unlimited number of colors available for the design.

Reading the description for Digital printing probably makes you worried that the designs on your clothes won't last or look good. Therefore, my priority is to create designs that are compatible with flex or flock print.

Flex

Flex is a printing technique where the design is cut from a colored foil and then pressed onto the shirt under high heat.
  • The printed colors have a slight shine to them and contrast extremely well with fabric.
  • Tests have shown that the form and color of the flex print barely change after 100 washes.
  • It is made of a flexible and resilient material - even thin lines do not break.
  • Due to the vibrant colors and the precise edges, the text appears extremely sharp.

Specialty Flex

Specialty flex prints differ from normal flex prints due to the special visual effects in the printing foils.
  • Designs printed with these foils glisten and reflect light.
  • The glitz foil is a very fine mix of the foil color's spectrum from darker to very shiny particles.
  • It shines and glistens intensely, especially as light catches it at different angles.
  • The glitter foil has a mixture of the main color and a touch of silver glitter - this gives the main color a contrasting and intense glitter effect, with less glistening as glitz.
  • Designs with specialty flex prints retain their vibrant color and glisten even after many washes.

Flock

Flock is a printing technique where the design is cut from a colored foil and then pressed onto the shirt under high heat.
  • A flock print has a velvety, fuzzy surface.
  • The foil (0.5 mm) is somewhat thicker than flex, which causes the design to appear slightly elevated from the apparel and results in the plush feel.
  • The colors have a soft glow to them.
  • Flock designs retain their vibrant color after many washes.

Designs for Flex and Flock print must be uploaded as a vector graphic and be approved for printing on certain apparel.  Therefore, it takes more time to create and edit designs for this type of printing.  But the end result will be a more durable, vibrant, shiny, and smooth surface on your new clothes.

I will be linking to this post whenever I explain my designs, so that you'll know exactly how your design will look like.

Clothing Suppliers

The designs are all made by me, but the clothes are another story.

Women's Fashion Only

We all know most girls love fashion and style, so to offer more than just generic t-shirts you see in most other fan shirts, I will be using clothing brought to you by Bella.  Here is some information about the company and their stylish clothes.
Quality
Bella meets the highest and most stringent of quality standards. In creating Bella, they apply strict guidelines to their product line. The offer only the softest yarns, the highest standards of sewing construction, the longest wearability and most importantly, the best fit.

Colors
The Bella color story has evolved with a focus on what women want to wear. Extensive color research and unique formulas guarantee that each Bella color is appealing to women, but most importantly when worn, makes women feel beautiful.  They have the most bright, and vibrant colors.
Sizing
Bella has created a line with a true women's fit in mind. They have applied years of retail experience and used the same sizing guidelines of high-end retail stores to achieve the perfect fit. Because Bella understands that women come in many beautiful shapes and sizes, they were the first women's line in the industry to have more than three sizes offered. Every woman can be sure to find a Bella garment with the perfect fit.

Styling
Did you know that Bella means "beautiful?" And their styling proves it. When they develop the styling for each piece, their design team operates under the motto of "Stylish... not trendy." They believe that style transcends time, whereas trends are here today, gone tomorrow. Their experience makes each style not just the styles you want to wear, but the ones you can't live without.

Fabrics
Bella fabric is the softest and most flattering fit in the industry. Each Bella fabric is created from only the highest quality yarn: a super soft combed ring-spun cotton.  For all of their basic styles, the largest yarn gauge they use is 30 single, where the industry standard is a much thicker 18 single. This enables them to achieve a very tight knit and a smooth face, perfect for all types of embellishments.

Here are some pics of their clothes:

Men's and Women's Fashion
Everyone loves their casual plain t-shirts.  And what better clothing company to go with than the Master of plain tees, American Apparel.

Known for its racy and interesting ads, AA makes some pretty awesome t-shirts.  Their clothes are Made in Downtown LA, California are their manufacturing is vertically integrated.  Which means that their clothes are still Made in USA.  Pretty amazing when almost every manufacturing company in the world has moved their plants to China or other developing countries.  It can be quite comforting to know that when you buy their clothes, no sweatshops or slave labor were involved.

They offer great quality clothes and their color selection is enormous.  You may spend all day deciding which color of shirt you want.
